STUDIES and QUALIFICATIONS

Gabriele Hilsheimer studied music with main subject recorder and musicology at the Musikhochschule Hannover, politics at Göttingen University (degree: Staatsexamen). She continued her studies at the Sweelinck Conservatorium Amsterdam (Walter van Hauwe) and at the Utrechts Conser-vatorium (Marion Verbruggen; Heiko ter Schegget); recorder degree in 1989.

In 1999 she graduated at the Musikhochschule Mannheim (Egino Klepper)

with a diploma in early keyboard instruments.

Private studies on the traverso flute followed with Karl Kaiser and Marc Hantai.

She also trained as a Jin Shin Jyutsu® practitioner and teacher for self-help.



TEACHING

Gabriele Hilsheimer is an enthusiastic teacher for people of different ages and levels. Her pupils have been successful on stage and in competitions. She currently teaches recorder, traverso flute and harpsichord at the Musikschule Mannheim; recorder at the Conservatory for Church Music Heidelberg. She has also taught recorder and chamber music at several other conservatories (Musik-hochschule Mannheim; Pädagogische Hochschule Göttingen; Pädagogische Hochschule Heidelberg).

She coaches ensembles, trains teachers and prepares students for conservatory entrance exams (recorder and traverso flute).

Music lessons are held in English, German, French or Dutch.

Lessons take place in Heidelberg or Mannheim; for other locations, please make enquires.

Beside her musical teaching she has held workshops for music students at  the Career Center of the Udk Berlin amongst other conservatories.



JIN SHIN JYUTSU®

Gabriele Hilsheimer is trained in several energetic Eastern healing techniques.

She started to learn Jin Shin Jyutsu® in 2005; she is a practioner and selfhelp-instructor. Jin Shin Jyutsu® is an ancient art of harmonizing life energy in the body,

based on Japanese healing traditions. It helps to release tensions, brings balance to the mind, emotions and body's energies, a prerequisite of performing music. It is a simple and effective method available to everybody and is especially helpful for performing artists.


MULTIREFLEXOLOGY DIEN CHAN/ CHAN‘beauté

Gabriele Hilsheimer is one of the few people in Germany beeing trained in Dien Chan and Chan‘beauté. The Vietnamese technique of Dien Chan defines the bases of face reflexology. Energetic points are stimulated with several multireflex  tools and the fingertops, not with needles. The treatments work well on problems such as p.e. back- or shoulderpain, headache. Dien Chan allows to detox, to regulate the fluids if the body, to bring harmony in the meridians of the body.

Chan‘beauté allows to influence your face in a positive way treating the skin with a special massage and the multireflex tools. A healthy and relaxed body reflects itself on the face.

CONCERTS

Her repertory contains solo, chamber and orchestral music.

As a chamber musician, she has been part of ensemble flauto con bassi for many years. Ensemble flauto con bassi performs chamber music on period instruments in different arrangements, with a focus on 17th &18th century repertoire for recorder/ traverso flute - viol - lute. www.flauto-con-bassi.de

She has performed medieval music (14th century; countertenor, recorder, vielle) and played with baroque and modern orchestras, in opera performances e.g. at Staatstheater Wiesbaden and with Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz.
